In other magical news … we’ve told you about the ultra-enchanted garb of HagCraft Farm, the clothing company of one Kimberly Gardner, who named her brand after the beloved 100-year-old farmhouse in rural Virginia where it was born, where she raised honeybees and chickens along with both native and garden botanicals. Last year she relocated to West Chester, Pennsylvania, and continues to do everything herself from her home studio—from designing new patterns, cutting, sewing, and dyeing, to modeling, website design, photo editing, and shipping. You’ll often see her as the main model in her photos, and her son’s the primary photographer. She loves to feature her friends as models when possible, too, paying everyone fairly. “One of HagCraft’s cornerstones is a commitment to being truly ethical,” she says.

Plus they all get to wear stunning fae gowns in the woods:

Another of Kimberly’s cornerstones is inclusivity. Her garments are designed to fit everyone. She offers a full range of sizes for her designs, is easy to reach via socials and email for help with sizing, and often sends out freebies to repeat customers to get feedback for fit and wearability.

She also sources all of her fabrics from a supplier who specializes in deadstock and leftover fabrics from the high-end fashion industry; “this means I get unique, high quality fabrics that really make my garments special,” she says, “while also keeping a multitude of textiles out of the landfill.” She uses vintage laces and trims and high-quality nickel-free hardware for her snaps and closures. Larger scraps become part of her community activism (she uses fabric and trim scraps to create hats, scarves, and arm warmers, donating all proceeds from these sales to organizations like Planned Parenthood and translifeline), while smaller ones are donated to creative reuse centers and other local fiber artists.

AND she offers free lifetime repairs and alterations for all the pieces she creates!

So how can you acquire one of said pieces, you ask?

Kimberly releases small collections in limited batches but gives you a preview first; these usually sell out quickly! She usually releases two collections a month, and the best place to keep up with upcoming releases is via her social media at https://www.instagram.com/hagcraftfarm/

Her latest collection, designed to celebrate HagCraft’s five-year anniversary, will launch on Tuesday the 13th at 6pm EST. You can see all the designs from this drop right now at https://hagcraftfarm.com/collections/all and you have six days to make your choices and set your alarm!

Here are a few of them:

The design above is one of her Elderflower Chemises (several below are as well), which is special to her because it’s “so effortless to style,” she says. “Multiple drawstrings and adjustable straps make is easy to get the perfect fit, and it can be worn as a layer or on its own. I make sleeveless and long sleeve versions of this gown and it’s quickly become my favorite.”

Above is one of her Your Favorite NPC Cloaks, inspired by her love of the Elder scrolls games. While it’s one of her original designs from the beginning of HagCraft, she says, “it’s got a fresh update with even more ways to style and comes in long sleeve and sleeveless editions. I love this cloak because not only is it wearable for everyone, it’s also designed to lay flat like a blanket.” Perfect for a picnic or fireside snuggling.

You can see variations of each, plus her Scavenger Tunic and Adjustable Adventuring Dress and other designs, below and at https://hagcraftfarm.com/collections/all.

We think Kimberly’s son does a pretty good job behind the camera, don’t you?

If you manage to snag one of these one-of-a-kind super special pieces on October 13, and/or if you get one for yourself in a later HagCraft drop (keep your eyes peeled at https://www.instagram.com/hagcraftfarm/), let us know what you think. And send a pic so we can admire you and be jealous!
